10 Studio Photographers
Helmut Newton
In the photo above, Newton, who is a German, high fashion photographer, photographed Angelina Jolie. Based on the photo, Helmut used studio lights instead of natural lighting. Most of the lighting is coming from the left side of the photo (her right side) and from on top since the shadows under her neck are dark and her left shoulder is very bright as if there is light directly on it whereas her left shoulder is shadowed.
Victor Demarchelier
Photographer Victor Demarchelier, son of famous French phorograhper Patrick Demarchelier, took this photo of rapper Gucci Mane and wife Keys Ka'Oir in March 2017. As you can see in the photo, studio lights were used and came from the top right of the photo, hitting Keys' back. You can tell where the lights are coming from because her back is lit whereas the front of her body, her left arm etc. all have shadows casting over them as well as the fact the Gucci Mane has more light coming from the left side since the right side of him has darker shadows.
Arnaldo Anaya-lucca
Puerto-Rican photographer Arnaldo took this photo of this male model. The lights in this photo are coming from the top right side. You can tell which side the studio lights are coming from because the right side of his face (left side of the photo) is shadowed and a lot darker. You can see the shadows on the side of his hand and nose, defining his features.
JUCO
This photo was done by photography duo Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud. As you can see the lights are coming from the right side of the photo and from on top since there are shadows under the model's chin and on her neck as well as on the right side of her face. You can also tell because the light is hitting her left shoulder, refection off and the ruffles on her dress are casting a shadow on the layers underneath.
Ben Hassett
English photographer Ben Hassett is a huge fashion photographer and is known for his iconic ad campaigns for Calvin Klein Cosmetics, Bulgari, YSL Beauté, Lanvin, Burberry, L’Oreal, and Christian Dior Beauté. In this photo, the lights are coming from the top and a bit from the right, since the shadows are under her neck, arms, face etc.
Conan Thai
Conan Thai's photo uses studio lights, coming from the right. As you can see, the left of the model is dark and all the shadows are on that side. The photo is already really dim so it's hard to tell where exactly the light is coming from but based on the reflection from his shoes and hands suggests that the light is shining from on top of them.
Jan Welters
This photo taken by Jan Welters uses studio lights coming from above the model's head. You can tell this because the hollows of her cheekbones and the curves/concave of her body have shadows as well as the fact that her neck, meaning the light must be coming from up above the model. There is also another light coming from behind the camera since her outfit is reflecting a light that seems to be coming directly at it and her face is lit up.
Markus Hoppe
In Hoppe's photo, the studio lights are coming from the right side of the photo (the model's left). All of the light is coming from that one side, the rest of the photo is dark and because of all of the shadows, you can barely see the right side of her face. Her left arm has the light against it whereas the left is completely dark.
Camilla Akrans
This photo by Camilla Akrans uses lights and probably some natural lighting as well. The lights hit the model from her left side and cast shadows under her face, on to her neck and shoulders. You can see the lights hitting the towel and her hand and how they cast shadows onto the right side.
Giampaolo Sgura
The studio lights in this photo are coming from the left side of the photo. The lights are hitting Ansel from the front and casting a shadow behind him, as you can see from the chair and part of his face is more dim than the right.
